01 SINGAPORE  CHANGSHA

Assemble at airport for your flight to Changsha, the capital of Hunan, a famous historic and cultural city. Upon arrival, be transferred for dinner and check-in hotel.

02 CHANGSHA  YUEYANG  CHANGDE

This morning, proceed to Yueyang. Situated at the confluence of the Dongting Lake and the Yangtze River in the northeastern Hunan Province, it is a celebrated ancient city of culture. Visit Yueyang Tower, a wooden structure supported by 4 pillars with no nails. This structure is a unique combination of mechanics, architecture, craftsmanship and beauty. After which, proceed to Changde for overnight stay.

03 CHANGDE  FENGHUANG

After breakfast, proceed to visit Poem Wall, a 3 km long anti-flood dyke alongside the Yuanjiang River, which is engraved with poems, handwriting and painting and thus is listed as the longest wall with engraved arts in the Guinness World Records. Continue drive to Fenghuang and visit Phoenix Ancient Town, one of well-known ancient cities. Most of local people are from the minority ethnic groups, Miao and Tujia who built their traditional houses (Diaojiao House) along Tuojiang River. Taking boat along Tuojiang River is a good experience where you will get full view of old traditional buildings in this ancient city. Other sightseeing here includes the Former residence of Shen Congwen and Yang Family Memorial Temple.

04 FENGHUANG  ZHANGJIAJIE

Drive to Zhangjiajie this morning. Zhangjiajie is part of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is named after a Han lord, Zhang Liang, who according to local legend lived here in seclusion and was buried under Qingyan (now Zhangjiajie) Mountain. Zhangjiajie is one of China’s most beautiful nature reserves, offering lush scenery and wonderful hiking trails. We will visit JunSheng Sandstone Painting Gallery, regarded as ”the special pride of Hunan” and also of Chinese people in general. It is rated high aesthetically and prized by art collectors. Next, visit Dragon King Cave, the oldest and largest karst cave of about 30km.

05 ZHANGJIAJIE

This morning, proceed to Mount Tianzi by cable car. Mount Tianzi covers an area of 100 square km. The highest peak is Tianzi Peak, which has an elevation of 1,262.5 meters. Enjoy the unique four wonders of the picturesque Mt Tianzi,, the sea of cloud, the harmony of rosy clouds and the sun, the shadow under the moon and the foggy pine in the winter. Next, visit Yuanjiajie. It is located on the north of Shandao Gorge, a huge quartz sandstone mountain. The First Bridge under Heaven, the Platform of Lost Mind and Back Garden are main scenic spots here. We will then take the Bailong Lift with capacity of 47 persons to the foot of Mt. Tianzi. Then, visit Golden Stream Whip, located in the east of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It is named after the 380m high Golden Whip Rock. Here, the meandering streams, the crystal-clear waterfalls, exotic plants and rare animals co-exist and constitute the extraordinarily beautiful, tranquil and natural ecological environment.

06 ZHANGJIAJIE

This morning, visit Ten mile Corridor and Baofeng Lake. Ten mile Corridor is a 5km long canyon with dense wood, fragrant flower and unique rock formations. Then, head to where you will appreciate beautiful views like poems and paintings. Surrounded by peaks, it is 2.5km in length. It is a man-made multi-functioned reservoir which can be used for containing water, irrigation, fishing, producing electricity and sightseeing. It will be a nice and comfortable thing for people to go boating here. Mirror its reflection in the lake, and wild stockades are precipitous, the hills are green and the water is clear.

07 ZHANGJIAJIE  SHAOSHAN  CHANGSHA

After breakfast, transfer to Shaoshan, a mountain village about 100km southwest of Changsha, with some fairly beautiful scenery. Shaoshan was the place where China’s Great Helmsman, Chairman Mao Zedong, spent his childhood and youth, attending school and helping his father with his work. We will visit Chairman Mao’s Former Residence and Mao Zedong Bronze Statue Square. Transfer back to Changsha for overnight stay.

08 CHANGSHA  SINGAPORE

After breakfast, proceed to visit Bamboo Slips Museum. It houses more than 100,000 bamboo slips and wooden tablets dating back over 1,700 years, which have been unearthed in downtown Changsha since October, 1996. The astounding bamboo and wooden slips were known as “one of 20th Century’s most important archaeological discoveries in China” and also labeled as “the fifth great discovery of ancient Chinese records” following the unearthed inscriptions on oracle bones from Yin Ruins and Dunhuang documents. Continue to Huangxing Walking Street. Transfer to airport for flight back to Singapore.
