Welcome to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. Vientiane is a fascinating capital, with fusion of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French and American influences. On arrival in Vientiane city, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a good night’s rest.

After breakfast, visit the famous national monument and sacred structure,That Luang Stupa. Following that, you will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is also known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. Set off for Vang Vieng thereafter. Enroute stop by a famous archaeological site dating back to the 11th century. Vang Vieng, which is nestled on a bend of the Nam Song River is set in a dreamlike landscape of bizarre limestone mountain peaks and sheer cliffs with Nam Song River bisecting the town. Despite the recent developments, its stunning scenery with a mixture of quiet water and limestone outcrops remain unspoiled. Cross the Nam Song River to Tham Jang Cave with a short trek through the breathtaking mountain landscape to explore the Tam None Cave and some hill villages. End the day catching the sunset over the Nam Song River.

Hop on a local tractor passing through paddy fields heading to Tham Phoukham Caves where your breath will be taken away by the beautiful limestone caves surrounded by natural forests. Greet the local villagers and understand their daily lifestyle along the way. You may wish to take a swim in the natural pool in front of the caves or simply explore the nearby area. Enjoy a picnic lunch while enjoying the scenery. Return to Vang Vieng town passing by the ethnic minority villages of Hmong, Souay and Taidam villages.

Head out of the city and make your way to Nam Ngum, a huge reservoir created by damming the Nam Ngum River. Embark on an hour long tail boat trip visiting villages in the various islets. Return to Vientiane, with a stopover at Ban Keun, a village that distills the local Lao whisky and its salt extraction plant. If time permits, you may also wish to try your luck at the Lao casino located in the valley where you can also enjoy the stunning view of the lake.

A city tour acquaints you with the capital visiting some of the major sights including the oldest temple Wat Sisaket, with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. Transfer to Buddha Park. Built in 1958 the park contains a collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures, scattered amongst gardens and trees.
