Welcome to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. Vientiane is a fascinating capital, with fusion of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French and American influences. This charming and easygoing city will provide a smooth introduction to Laos. Overnight stay at Vientiane.

After breakfast, visit Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure, That Luang Stupa. You will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph before catching your flight to Luang Prabang one of the most charming cities in South-East Asia. Surrounded by nature’s beauty, Luang Prabang is rich in cultural heritage and is known as the seat of Lao culture with monasteries, monuments, traditional costumes. Explore this serene city by climbing to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the scared, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset over the Mekong River. The night market is fun to visit and a good place to buy arts, crafts and stock up on souvenirs and presents.
Embark on a short guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, representing classical Laotian architecture. Take a short boat ride on the Mekong River to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. This is a two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Enroute, stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, for its local rice wine produce. A short drive to Ban Phanom, a village known for its hand weaving is also arranged. Have some time visiting Ban Xangkhong, Ban Xienglek, small villages known for silk weavings and Saa Papermaking. Overnight stay at Luang Prabang.
At dawn, monks from the various monasteries walk through the streets collecting alms of rice. This tradition is unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the rituals. You may wish to start the day early to join the locals in the offerings. Continue to the local morning Phousi Market where you will find items such as dried buffalo skin, local tea, among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings. Visit also the impressive Stupa of Wat Visoun and Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts. You will have the opportunity to visit local village of the ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay and Ban Thapene for its traditional handicrafts. Cool off the day at the beautiful Khuang Si Waterfall and finally a sunset view at Wat Thabath Tai. Overnight stay at Luang Prabang.
It’s time to bid farewell to Luang Prabang as you set off for your flight home via Vientiane.

Transfer to Buddha Park after breakfast. Built in 1958, the park contains a collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures, scattered amongst gardens and trees. Located about 28kms south of Vientiane at the edge of the Mekong River, the town of Nong Khai in neighboring Thailand can be seen on the opposite side. A city tour acquaints you with the capital. Start visiting the major sights, including the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. Enroute visit Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure, That Luang Stupa. You will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. Overnight stay at Vientiane.
