A self-retreat program that let you enjoy the serenity of the temple which nested within the
Naejangsan National Park. The freshness and calm of the mountain air let you release the build-up
stress of your daily hectic modern life.
Spend your time freely in the temple and finding the peace again during your stay. You can also trek
up the mountain, take a walk in the wood or meditate in the openness of the nature. It will be a time
for you to recharge and rediscover the calm and peaceful self.

Temple food culture experience

Korea temple food is humble in nature, originated from the Korea Buddhist temples. A traditions and
culture that has strongly influenced Korean cuisine as well. At Baekyangsa, the head chef Sunim
Jeong Kwan, spend a large part her life cooking with the nature, from planting to harvesting and
giving it back, makes her cooking one of the nature. With Sunin Jeong Kwan temple food goes beyond
the eating itself. It’s the entire process that make her cooking so spontaneous and special which will
warm the heart of the consumer with compassion.
Every Sunday, learn how to turn the humble ingredients from the temple garden yard, into a heartwarming
meals but simple in nature.

Temple life experience

This experiential program require all participants to attend all temple life activities, from dawn
Buddhist prayer ceremony, meditation, making 108 beads and communal work. Through all these
activities, carry out systemically, allow you to learn about the temple life culture and the day in the
life of a practitioner.
